Waiting for Godot hw1

11.     In the video, “Power of Ten” it shows the world in increments of the power of ten in ten seconds.  Starting outside showing a couple to the edge of the universe.  Then the video actually goes back from the universe and goes all the way beneath the man on the picnic’s cells.  I think the video has to do with perspective as in the way you see the world and what we cant physically see but just perceive.  Whether it is something far away or close.  Humans cant see certain things such as when the power of ten went so close into the guy’s hand or as far as being able to see the universe.  In relation to the play where Vladimir and Estragon are waiting for the infamous “Godot” making one question his existence.  Just as some people do with god.  Through out the duration of the play Vladimir and Estragon wait for this character that may not have to ability to be seen physically, just like god.
22.   I think Pozzo is really bossy and I felt sympathetic toward Lucky.  Pozzo simply dehumanizes Lucky.  I think they’re in the play because Pozzo may symbolize god in a way because he feels like he has power over people.  However, he isn’t perfect such as he cant sit or stand on his own with out being told.  In act one when Pozzo comes in with Lucky he immediately starts treating him like his personal slave by commanding his every want.  Such as ordering Lucky to bring him his [Pozzo’s] things or even ordering him when to speak.  By keeping him on a rope ad tugging when he wants his attention and services is very arrogant.
33.     Didi and Gogo are basically names that Vladimir and Estragon refer to themselves as.  Didi is actually Vladimir and through out the play he is like the wiser one who seems to have more sense. Where as Gogo is Estragon and is more simple minded.  The difference between the characters reminded me of the characters Lenny and George from Of Mice and Men.
44.     I didn’t really understand what Didi and Gogo were talking about through out the play.  Maybe they never had an actual intellectual conversation.  What I did understand was them questioning if they’ll ever see Godot or doubt the location they were at.  As if it played a factor as to why they haven’t seen Godot.
55.     My life is like Didi and Gogo because it can go one of two ways.  Sometimes I can be a little on the negative side and become frustrated with certain problems if I cant seem to find one of the many solutions for it.  Just as in the play these two seem to begin to lack patience for the arrival of Godot.  And sometimes I can comprehend things a little better and help someone who may have less wisdom such as Vladimir does with Estragon.
