Convincing a young child to read alexie book

    At your young age it is normal to think that the book may be boring and long. But really its not!  In fact, it is really funny The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-Time Indian is a really good book.  The main character Junior has a great sense of humor that will have you reading more and literally laughing out loud.  I know you like books with pictures and this book as alot of good drawings and they are also funny.  You're a young boy just like Junior! Read for yourself how brave he is, just like you.
    The book is relatable especially a boy your age going through that stage in school.  Junior gets bullied all the time because he was born with an illness but he doesnt let that affect him and he still manages to have a lot of courage.  Growing up on a reservation wasnt a good thing for indians however being the brave boy that he is, he challenges himself to a new beginning.  The book even talks about his first real crush! You will find that interesting for sure! but the question is will she like him back or not? Similarly he has a best friend who he loves doing countless of teen things with.. You'll just have to find out yourself :)

Responce to Alexie sample papers

To me, the best out of the three was sample paper 2.  The introduction included the author and the title of the book.  In addition to a couple of opening lines allowing the intro to flow and the thesis at the end of the paragraph.  Although I feel like the thesis could have been less vauge and more strong as well as avoiding words such as; probably because the author seems unsure rather than having confidence and avoiding doubt.  I also liked how transition words were included to help with coherence in the paper.  For the most part eah body paragraph starts with a topic sentence.  Followed by examples connecting to the point and most importantly thesis.  However, one of the body paragraphs starts off with "Because he.." I wouldnt start with because nor leave the word as he,  but more specific and state that its Junior/or Arnold.  Through out the paper I noticed alot of hes, they, they'res in which again, I would be specific and clear as to who is being adressed.  I did like that this paper didnt ask questions within the paper as the others did... Overall I was able to see the structure of the paper with minor mistakes....

Current State of Affairs for Native Americans

What I recall from learning our country’s history is that U.S expansion meant loss of land to Native Americans and not by their willingness but by tricking them and practically pushing Native Americans off of their land.  Not only was there many massacres killing most of their population but Native Americans were also forced to live on reservations because they depended on it due to killings of buffalo among other customs....  After treaties made and laws after the unfair actions of Americans now Federal policies have been improved toward Indian Tribes.

The Senior Adviser's various missions include:
Tribal Liaison—coordinating and communicating all Native American / Indian Country issues directly with Tribes and across all the bureaus within Commerce as well as externally with all other federal agencies;
Tribal Consultation Policy—coordinating and implementing Commerce’s Tribal Consultation Policy Plan and consultation sessions. Serves as the primary contact for all Tribal Consultation actions and issues;
Economic Development—serves as the facilitator of the Office of Native American Business Development by assisting and consulting with Indian Country in leveraging the combined efforts of the federal programs, tribal governments, private sector businesses and financing in order to promote economic growth for Tribes and Native Americans.
Executive Order 13175

Since taking office, President Obama and his Administration have made tremendous progress on the major issues of concern to Indian Country. Underlying this progress is President Obama’s belief that tribal leaders must be part of the solution to problems

Responce to State of Union

One of the topics covered by Obama in his speech was stregthening the middle and lower class which is essential for our country to improve and progress.  To strengthen the middle and lower economic class one of his plans is to raise minumum wage to $10.10. Not only will that stimulate the economy but also, increase productivity. As many Americans may feel that the governement just empowers the rich, while the middle and lower class dont progress and suffer finacially.  The president himself even stated that no one should have to work just to survive and get by.. Thus, being very important and hope that employers agree and do so..
