My view: deforestation

Not only is it unfortunate that deforestation is happening but what is more unfortunate is that millions of humans aren't aware, which makes the problems worse by the second. Deforestation is the process of clearing trees in forest or just trees for land. Personally I am aware that trees are very important to our environment and helpful to us humans and nature... However I wasn't fully aware of how severe this problem is elevating too... On worldwildlife.org I came across some interesting facts. Such as, forests only covering about 31% of land on our planet... Thinking that there was more areas containing trees I was a little surprised.  Especially how so many trees are being cut at such a rapid rate, while our planet doesn't have much land with the resource to begin with. Deforestation also has to do with global warming because of the climate change.  Because trees take in the C02, there is less in the environment then there would be with out them... 3 topics of The Last Hours of Ancient Sunlight

*Man vs. earth*

On pg 52, Thom states that earth's biggest predator is: man. Us humans are destroying many systems and resources.

*Culture*

Older cultures (customs) vs present

Then, people lived in suitable places for life, sustainable basically

Cooperation

City states

Now, we use resources selfishly.

Next generation ?

*taking vs. saving*

The effect of our generation is the severity of global warming

Preservation ? for our earth and future generations

Oil takes years to be made not just thousands but millions of years, while our generation wastes endlessly

Greed ?

A good way to think about it is
"Over drafting" our natural resources :/
